Having completed this course I have a new found respect for those who choose to conduct research. Research is an approach to gathering new data on a subject matter. I learned the different types of research and why it is important. I view the blogging experience as a way to have an outline for the overall proposal. It was fun writing out my thoughts as it pertained to my research proposal and then tying them all together in the final paper. I think from writing the research proposal I was able to understand the importance on conducting research. I wanted to learn more about the connection research have in relation to social work. I now understand how research pertains to social work policy. The insights I gained from this class was to be more aware what information is true or not; knowing that some data can be swayed or changed to fit the criteria of the research design. This class I has helped me in my journey to becoming a social worker.
